Research title: A multi-modal approach to prevent potential malaria outbreaks in changing environments

Research summary

A multidisciplinary approach integrating remote sensing, ecology and infectious disease epidemiology is essential to identify how Earth Observation (EO) data can be used to mitigate the effects of climate change on public health. Recent advances in machine and deep learning can be applied and could assist in the automation of this process, making possible a complete workflow for the integration of the different sources of information such as drone imagery and ground-based mosquito surveys. My research focuses on co-designing with stakeholders a framework for integrating EO data that can be used for malaria control programmes operating in resource limited areas.
