Research title: The tactics of rheotaxis: movements of higher vertebrate predators in relation to Southern Ocean currents
Research Summary
I am a marine ecologist interested in using advanced statistical modelling and technology to understand marine animal populations. My PhD research focuses on top predator movement ecology in relation to Southern Ocean currents; combining animal tracking data, ocean modelling and statistical modelling.
I work in the School of Biodiversity, One Health and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow and the Ecosystems team at the British Antarctic Survey. I am also working in partnership with Cefas (Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science).
My PhD is funded by the Iapetus Doctoral Training Partnership.
