Research title: Gendering Scottish-Atlantic Slavery: female beneficiaries of transatlantic wealth, 1770-1838

Research Summary

My research explores the role of Scottish women as beneficiaries of slavery-derived wealth (1770-1838), dispelling traditional narratives surrounding Scotland’s and women's lack of involvement in transatlantic slavery.
