The University of Glasgow has again improved its position within the world top 100 in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027.

The University was placed 83^rd in the world, an improvement of one position. This follows the success of last year, when the University rose three places to 84^th.

This also places the University of Glasgow as the 10th highest ranked university in the UK.

The continual improvement of the University’s ranking in recent years is significant as the number of global institutions increases. 106 institutions were added to the 2027 rankings, taking the total to 2,297 overall.

The University performed strongly in the pillars of Research Quality (34^th) and International Outlook (37^th), and improved significantly in Teaching, rising seven places to 123^rd. The University performed within the top 25% of institutions across all pillars.

The Times Higher Education World Rankings are the most comprehensive set of rankings in higher education. Trusted worldwide by students, teachers, governments and industry experts, the rankings give an annual review of the global higher education landscape.
