The Principal and Vice Chancellor of the University of Glasgow, Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli, said: “Whilst all league tables need to be treated with a degree of caution, I am nonetheless delighted that Glasgow has gone up from 20th to 17th place in the UK rankings and that we have retained second spot in Scotland in the Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019. This is recognition of the incredibly hard work of our staff and students and again confirms the status of the University of Glasgow as world leading and world changing. Visitors to the west end of the city can now see tangible evidence of our £1bn campus development programme as new buildings start to emerge. These state-of-the-art facilities, which will be delivered over the next eight years, will ensure that Glasgow continues to be a destination of choice for the best and most talented academics, researchers and students.”
