The University of Glasgow has registered a rise of seven places to stand at 14 in the latest Guardian University Guide for courses starting in 2013. It is further good news for Glasgow, following last year’s rise from 23 to 21 and comes after the University received a glowing satisfaction rating of 90 per cent from students in the 2011 National Student Survey.

Professor Anton Muscatelli, Principal & Vice Chancellor of the University of Glasgow, said: “Although students should always look beyond rankings when choosing the course that is right for them I am delighted by this news, which again underlines the strength and quality of teaching at the University of Glasgow, as well as recognising the tremendous student experience that we offer.

“The student experience which Glasgow offers is due to the hard work of all our colleagues at the University: our academic, professional and support staff all work assiduously to ensure that our students enjoy a top-quality learning environment, receive world-class teaching and support, and have access to the best campus facilities. We look forward to welcoming our new students here in September.”
