Get ready for the annual rodeo at the Glasgow University Vet School

The Vet School Rodeo promises to be bigger and better than ever.

This year we celebrate the 47th anniversary of the Rodeo at the Garscube Estate, home of the Veterinary School, on Saturday 28th April.

Organised by the veterinary students, there will be a whole host of activities for all the family.

The Rodeo aims to raise awareness of animal related issues and allow visitors to get close to a wide range of different creatures, from snakes and huskies to horses and ferrets.

Education and charity aside, with so many things to do, see and experience, it's no wonder that the Rodeo is always a fun and enjoyable day out for everybody.

Events this year include duck herding, husky racing, falconry and a gun dog display.

For the energetic, you can try your hand at riding a rodeo sheep or pull on a sumo suit for some wrestling.

Bring along your own pet to participate in the dog show, dog agility competition, or small animal show.

The Rodeo is an annual charity event organised by students of the Glasgow University Veterinary Medical Association.

This year proceeds will go to Riding for The Disabled, Boxer Welfare Scotland, Greyhound Awareness League and the Vet School Development Fund.

The fun begins at 10am.

Entrance prices - family £10, adult £5, concession £2.50
