This year's event will take place on Saturday 17th May on the River Clyde at Glasgow Green. In recent times, the University of Glasgow has enjoyed the upper hand, last year defeating Edinburgh in four of the seven races, including both of the top women's and men's events.

The programme for the day is as follows:

1.30 pm The toss.

2.00 pm Women's reserve race.

2.15 pm Alexandra v Argonauts : Graduate men's race.

2.35 pm Men's reserve race.

2.50 pm Alexandra v Argonauts: Graduate women's race.

3.10 pm Walter Scott & Partners Edinburgh Glasgow Women's Boat Race.

3.25 pm Alexandra v Argonauts : Graduate mixed race.

3.50 pm Walter Scott & Partners Edinburgh Glasgow Boat Race

The University is delighted to welcome two graduates travelling from Norway to take part in the event - Dr Stein Hoff (MB ChB, 1970) and his wife Diana (MB ChB, 1968). Stein recently completed a transatlantic crossing in his 7.1m rowing boat 'Star Atlantic II'.

The Glasgow men's crew currently holds a 3-1 advantage, in terms of races staged since 1999, while the Edinburgh women's crew holds a 3-1 lead over Glasgow. Both team captains are, however, predicting a close contest when the crews meet on Saturday.
