The LRF Glasgow Bikeathon - Get on your bike THIS SUNDAY

Published: 15 August 2003

The LRF Glasgow Bikeathon happens this Sunday 17 August. Please turn up and lend your support - or you can try for last-minute entry

The University of Glasgow is working with Leukaemia Research Fund to provide a major new research centre in the heart of Glasgow's medical community. The new Centre will be based at Gartnavel hospital and will serve patients throughout Scotland.

As part of the ongoing fundraising campaign a bikeathon event will be held this Sunday at 10am. The LRF Glasgow Bikeathon aims to be a fun, family event where participants can cycle either 13 or 26 miles over a pre-determined, stewarded route, starting and finishing in Kelvingrove Park in the west end of Glasgow.

There may be a chance to enter on the day, as there are still a few places available. They are limited, so turn up early if you want a chance to join in this fun day out - it will be first-come, first-served. Supporters are very welcome, so turn out to cheer on those who will be cycling hard to raise money for the new Leukemia Research Centre.
