Local artist Louise Annand will donate a painting to the University of Glasgow this Friday for a charity auction. As part of its 550th anniversary celebrations the University is holding a charity art auction on 22 November to raise funds for the Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) and for students of Art History travelling abroad to study. Amongst items already donated is an entirely new print by Sir Eduardo Paolozzi, the Queen's Sculptor in Scotland. Phillips Scotland will support the event by donating their valuation and auctioneer services.

Professor Malcolm McLeod of the University of Glasgow said:
"Both Louise Annand and Eduardo Paolozzi are very good friends of the University and we are delighted they are supporting this charity event. We hope that many more contributions will be donated for the auction.

"The event will be an art auction in the widest sense. So far we have received professional and amateur works of art as well as other interesting collectibles such as classical records, wines, silver, ceramics and photographs."
