Residence Life Welfare
Living in Student Accommodation is a unique experience that comes with highs and lows. Living away from home for the first time, navigating living with others, being more independent, whilst keeping on top of studies can be overwhelming.
The Residence Life Welfare team is here to support students with all of this. Our staff come from a variety of different support backgrounds and work with the shared aim of supporting students in accommodation to have the best experience possible.
What the Welfare Team can support with:
- Wellbeing and mental health support
- Exam and academic pressure support
- Flatmate conflict resolution and mediation
- Welfare check-ins and follow-up support
- Signposting to University and external support services
- Referrals to Uni support teams
- Guidance during personal challenges or difficult circumstances

Residence Life Community Team
The Residence Life (ResLife) Community team leads on student engagement activities within University accommodation.
Our aims are to support students with the transition to university by creating opportunities for them to meet with fellow students, build meaningful connections to other, and feel welcomed into their student accommodation and to Glasgow.
Our Community Team run our Halls Activity Team, supporting student volunteers to create authentic community within their own homes. We have a dedicated Events and Volunteering Coordinator who oversees our programme of events, ensuring that these are accessible and engaging for our residents.
We have a Communications Officer who leads on our social media and digital communications, promoting the key messages of Residence Life and ensuring students know what is happening within their halls.
Finally, we have our Social Responsibility Officer, who leads on campaigns and projects related to environmental sustainability and positive communal living.
