Maker Mondays are friendly and informal skills workshops which take place in the ARC MakerSpace, located on Level 2 of the ARC, by the main door off St Mungo Square.
 
Each 90-minute session focuses on a particular type of making activity, including crafting, 3D printing, laser cutting and basic electronics. Maker Mondays are also a place to meet and get to know colleagues from different parts of the University.
 
We’ll be bringing a festive flavour to the Winter Season through the designs we create and the items we make in each workshop. All sessions are free to attend, though booking is essential as the capacity is limited. You can view the entire event collection on Eventbrite or book individual sessions below.
 
All sessions take place from 11:00 – 12:30 on the dates indicated below:

Creativity through Crafting: Monday 24 November

The session will be led by Lisa Bradley and Kelly Hawkins and is themed around crafting and sewing. Book your place via Eventbrite.

Learn to 3D Print: Monday 1 December

The session will be led by Richard Bowman and Sophie Singer who will use freely available software with 3D printers to turn creative designs into real objects. Book your place via Eventbrite.

Learn to Laser Cut: Monday 8 December

The workshop will be led by Emily Maxwell and Graham Gibson who will introduce the design software and practical aspects needed for laser cutting. Book your place via Eventbrite from 10th Nov.

Introduction to Electronics: Monday 15 December

This session will be led by Hessam Mehr and Ken Skeldon, bringing a festive focus to basic electronics and soldering skills. Book your place via Eventbrite from 10th Nov.
