The ‘Careers and future opportunities’ section on undergraduate degree pages have been updated to help you explore graduate destinations, discover the transferable skills you are developing on your course and find the careers support available throughout your time at Glasgow.

This updated information has been co-created by colleagues from Careers, Employability & Opportunity and the Web Team in External Relations, working alongside a student intern (Efua, 3rd year Immunology student) to help ensure the information reflects the questions and insights that matter most to prospective and current students.

When reflecting on her internship, Efua said: “As a Careers Destination intern, I had the opportunity to work on a project that will have a real impact on the student experience. I developed my confidence in communicating professionally, handling and organising data and working with different teams across the University. It was rewarding to see the work I had contributed come together and be used in the updated ‘Careers and future opportunities’ section of the undergraduate degree pages.”

Explore the first steps our graduates have taken

One of the most exciting new features is the addition of real graduate job titles from University of Glasgow graduates, giving you an insight into some of the first roles students from your degree have gone on to secure after graduating.

While everyone's career journey is different, these examples can help you explore the variety of opportunities that your Glasgow degree could open up. You'll also find information about graduate employment outcomes, including the proportion of graduates in work or further study, graduate-level employment and average professional salaries.

Recognise the skills you're developing

Alongside developing expertise in your subject, your degree also helps you build valuable transferable skills. Every undergraduate programme page now highlights five skills that are developed through your course, using language that's easy to recognise and apply.

Understanding these skills can help you articulate your experiences in applications, interviews and conversations with employers, while also helping you reflect on what you've gained through your studies.

Discover the support available

The updated pages also highlight the careers and employability support available throughout your degree. Whether you're looking for careers advice, CV feedback, internship opportunities, employer events or help planning your next steps, the Careers, Employability & Opportunity team is here to support you at every stage of your journey.

Take a look

Take a few minutes to explore your programme page. You might discover career paths you hadn't previously considered, recognise new skills you've been developing or find support that helps you take your next step with confidence.
