On Saturday 18 July, join members of our community from across the city for Glasgow’s Pride March. Details on location and timing are still to be confirmed.

Glasgow Pride is an important moment in the year for our University community. It offers a visible and collective way to show solidarity with our LGBTQ+ colleagues and students, and to reaffirm our shared commitment to addressing issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community.

At this moment, visible support for our community particularly important. Our staff and student networks and associations play a vital role in supporting and recognising all identities. As a University committed to inclusion and the promotion of equality, we understand the importance of creating and sustaining spaces where this commitment is actively demonstrated.

Professor Moira Fischbacher-Smith, Vice-Principal for Learning and Teaching and LGBT+ Equality Champion, shared:

“Glasgow Pride remains an important moment in the year for our LGBTQ+ community. It is an event that our student and staff LGBT networks have consistently supported, and that ongoing commitment really matters.

For many in the community, visible allyship from colleagues and fellow students makes a genuine difference. It reinforces a sense of belonging and shared responsibility for creating an inclusive environment.

Equality and inclusion sit at the core of the University’s values, so thank you in advance to everyone who is able to show their support through attending Glasgow Pride this July.”
