Explore the new Curriculum for Life (C4L) courses available to eligible students in 2026/2027. These new credit-bearing, elective courses will help you tackle real-world challenges and develop skills for your future!
Am I eligible?
In the Academic Year 2026/2027, C4L courses will be available to:
- Year 2 undergraduate students in the College of Arts & Humanities
- Year 2 MA Social Science students
- Year 1 and 2 BSc/MSci students in the College of Science & Engineering
- Year 1 and 2 BSc Psychology and Life Science students in the College of Medical, Veterinary, and Life Sciences
There are lots of courses to choose from under the 6 C4L themes:
- Climate & Environment
- Creativity & Innovation
- Health & Communities
- Power & Justice
- Leadership & Discovery
- Digital Literacy
Each course is worth 20 credits and is compatible with progressing to your preferred Honours combination, plus there are no pre-requisites.
When enrolment opens in August 2026, C4L courses will be available in your course catalogue, ready for you to enrol.
The webpages and some of our C4L courses have been developed by students, for students. Maya Chillingworth and Rasha Kablan, UofG students and Learning & Teaching Strategy Interns, both contributed to the development of the 'Life Lab: The Psychology and Neuroscience of Thriving' course and helped to ensure the webpages were engaging for students.
Rasha Kablan, UofG student and Student Intern, has said "Contributing to the formation of the C4L course 'Life Lab: The Psychology and Neuroscience of Thriving' has been a highly rewarding experience and what made this work so deeply fulfilling was the realisation that we weren't just assembling a syllabus; we were crafting a launchpad for confidence, creativity, and real-world impact. Through the Life Design approach, we embedded active experimentation, path reframing, and future prototyping directly into the curriculum. There is a profound sense of purpose in knowing that my team and I collaborated to build something lasting - a space where uncertainty is not feared but navigated with durable skills."
