International Postgraduates' Reading Group
Series Description: Do you have reading to do for an assessment, seminar, lecture, etc.? Are you finding it hard to find time or focus on reading? Are you finding some academic reading or texts challenging? Join us for our online reading group for international postgraduate (masters) students!
These groups provide a structured and friendly space for academic reading for your assessments and learning. At the start of the session, we set our goals (e.g. 'I will read this whole article or pages 1-20 of this book'); this is followed by focused individual reading time; then space to ask questions and share good practice about effective approaches to academic reading in general and to raise questions about the academic text you are reading.
The sessions are led by Dr Mona O'Brien, Effective Learning Adviser for International Students in all subjects.
Target Audience: This group is designed for international postgraduate students.
This series will run online in Semester 1 (October-November 2026).
