Having Difficulty Enrolling in Your Courses?
Having difficulties enrolling in your courses
We understand it can be frustrating when things don't work, and you may have difficulties enrolling in your courses. If you experience an issue we would ask you log an IT help request where a member of the team will look at your issue and reply to you as soon as they can. You can check the status via the IT Helpdesk or your email for updates.
We ask you to use the IT Helpdesk because:
- It helps us keep track of your request
- It makes sure nothing gets missed
- It lets us update you on what’s happening
The below are examples of issues that can arise and we would ask you to detail this in your IT help request to better assist our team in dealing with your request as quickly as possible.
If you have completed registration, tried the self service enrolment and still have issues please contact the:
Spaces on this course are reserved
You can’t take this course yet because you haven’t finished a required class or qualification—like trying to take Advanced Biology without passing Intro to Biology—so you’ll need to wait for your final grades, and if you think there’s been a mistake, raise a helpdesk ticket.
Time conflict
You can’t take both classes because they’re scheduled at the same time—like Math 1017 and Chemistry 1001 both running at 10:00 AM—so try using the 'Check Suitability' tool in MyCampus or switch to a different tutorial or lab group.
Qualifications not met/requisites not met
You can’t enrol because you’re missing a required course, qualification, or grade—check the error message for more info, look up the course prerequisites in the course catalogue, and if you think you meet the requirements, submit a helpdesk ticket.
Class full
You can’t enrol in this course right now because it’s already full—for example, Psychology 1001 might be capped at 100 students and all spots are taken—so you’ll need to either pick a different course or section or check back later in case someone drops out and a space opens up.
Unable to complete your request
This usually means you can’t do something right now because it’s either not the right time to enrol for your course or year, or there’s something on your account—like an unpaid fee or another issue—that needs to be sorted out first.
Permission required to enrol
You need to get permission from the department before you can sign up for or drop this course.
Course already taken
Our records show that you’ve already completed this course, and students normally aren’t allowed to repeat courses. If you’ve been given permission to retake the course or repeat the year, contact the UofG Helpdesk.
