UofG hosts international conference on Chinese Studies

The 22nd Biennial Conference of the European Association of Chinese Studies is being hosted at the University

The 22nd Biennial Conference of the European Association of Chinese Studies is being hosted by the School of Culture and Creative Arts and the Scottish Centre for China Research at the University.

The conference will be held from 29 August - 1 September and the programme of 101 sessions and 377 presentations is now available on the conference website. Online registration will be open until 14 August: delegates without presentations are also welcome.

Keynote speakers are Dr Stacey Pierson (SOAS, University of London) and Professor Ya Ping Wang (University of Glasgow). Dr Pierson will be presenting on "Fragments of China: Destruction, Location and the Collecting of Architectural Remains in 19th century Britain" (29 August) and Professor Wang on "China’s Urban Transformation: A Confucianism Perspective" (1 September).

The conference convenor is Dr Minna Torma.
