Rewarding Contribution Round for 2017-18 now open

Published: 1 October 2018

Reward and Recognition process is accessible to all eligible staff on Grades 1 to 9 of the substantive pay scale

I am pleased to advise that the annual Rewarding Contribution (formerly Reward and Recognition) round for 2017-18 is now open. The Reward and Recognition process is accessible to all eligible staff on Grades 1 to 9 of the substantive pay scale, irrespective of contractual status or length of service.

Please note that nominations should be submitted to the relevant College/US HR Team (email addresses below) by 31st October 2018.

Reward Types:

  • There continues to be scope for those staff who have been rated as ‘Exceptional’ in this year’s PDR round to be nominated for a Sustained Contribution award, i.e. an accelerated increment or a contribution point, however there is no longer the facility to make a self-application for this type of award.
  • Strong Contribution awards can be used to acknowledge a staff member who has worked over and above their role to support a one-off task or project that is finite by nature. These rewards are one-off lump sum payments which will be equivalent to the value agreed in respect of those assessed as ‘Exceptional’ through the PDR round.
  • Additionally, the University recognises that in some cases it is a collective contribution of staff that merits reward rather than any one individual.  Where a case for Reward and Recognition is submitted for a team, this should consist of one submission which, if successful, will be rewarded via the University’s voucher scheme.

Full details regarding the Reward and Recognition process, including the relevant forms, are available on the HR website and the timetable is replicated below for information:
