Alumnus Yueyue, a.k.a. Pinkray, treats Gilchrist customers to celebrate birthday
Customers at The Gilchrist Postgraduate Club on July 11 received an unexpected treat - a free coffee, thanks to UofG alumnus Yueyue, also known as Pinkray, who was celebrating his birthday.
A graduate of the Adam Smith Business School, he has now become famous in China for his appearance in a TV show, Idol Producer.
Chang Liu, a current UofG student and Yueyue fan, approached Markee Rambo-Hood, events manager at the Gilchrist PG Club, with the idea of holding a birthday party for him. She liaised with his fans in China in order to support the event and with Hospitality Services.
On the day, the Gilchrist was decorated with posters and roll-up banners with his photos and gave out 150 free coffees before 11am The event was posted on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Facebook, and has been shared over 1,000 times.
