General Council meeting update

The General Council half-yearly meeting was held on Tuesday, June 19, and for the first time was combined with an Open Event for any interested members of the public.

The meeting was chaired by the University Chancellor, Professor Sir Kenneth Calman.
Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli gave an overview ranging from the University’s financial position to research.
Ms Elizabeth Passey, Convener of Court, talked about the history of Court, its functions and how it is changing following legislation by the Scottish Government on higher education governance.
Professor Neal Juster, Senior Vice-Principal and Deputy Vice Chancellor, gave an update of the University’s campus development programme, while Mr John Marsh, Convener of the General Council Business Committee, reported on committee business.
