Michaela Hruskova, a first year PhD student in Management in the Adam Smith Business School, is the only student from a UK university to be awarded a place on the prestigious Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference (BCERC) Doctoral Consortium.

The event, taking place this month (June), is hosted by the Waterford Institute of Technology in Ireland. Places are awarded on a competitive basis.

The Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference is considered by many to be the premier entrepreneurship research conference in the world.

Michaela, who has an ESRC studentship, is researching entrepreneurial ecosystems under the supervision of Professor Colin Mason and Professor Andy Cumbers.

Michaela said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have been awarded a place at this prestigious conference at such an early stage of my research career. This is a great recognition of my academic achievements to date and a wonderful opportunity for my professional development. In particular, it is a fantastic opportunity for me to meet leading scholars in entrepreneurship, start building my academic network, and to obtain feedback on my PhD project.”
