On Thursday 24 September the University will play host to MEPs and MSPs who will take questions from a 100-strong audience of young people.

The University is keen, in the run up to a referendum on the question of the UK’s membership of the European Union, to take an active role in ensuring that such key decisions are made on the basis of facts and not prejudice, and following open debate.

Launching a series of events under this theme, on Thursday 24th September GU plays host to MEPs and MSPs who will take questions from a 100-strong youth audience.

Students from across GU campus, local secondary schools, the Scottish Youth Parliament, the BBC’s Generation ’14 and ’15 projects and other youth organisations will put questions to the panel, which will be under the chairmanship of journalist and former BBC political correspondent, John Morrison.

The panel comprises Alyn Smith, SNP MEP;  Claire Baker, Labour MSP; Jackson Carlaw, Conservative MSP; Jonathon Schafi, RISE –Scotland’s Left Alliance

Prior to the Question Time session, BBC Journalist, Calum Leslie will address the audience on how the media can engage with young people (and vice versa) in the run up to the referendum.

There are a limited number of audience places for students remaining. If you would like to attend this event please email Myrto.Tsakatika@glasgow.ac.uk
