You may recall a communication back in the summer about a project group working to define a philosophy about what it means to be a non-academic/professional services staff member within the Colleges and University Services; what inspires us and our colleagues and what personal and career development might look like at UofG.

With this objective, the project group has been very busy over the past four months pulling together ideas and insights from colleagues across the university (through two workshops) and conducting extensive internal and external research (both inside and outside the HE sector).

The contributions from our colleagues have been incredibly insightful. Together these findings will form the basis of our recommendations for change at the University and what it means to be a professional services member of staff.

In order to sense check our recommendations and make sure we haven’t missed anything we will be holding a final session on 3 December, which is open to everyone who’d like to find out more about what we’ve been doing.

The format of this workshop will be a ‘drop-in’ anytime between 12 and 2pm and the session will give you the opportunity to get a glimpse of how it is all starting to take shape.. Come along and tell us what you think!

Location: WILT (Western Infirmary Lecture Theatre) View Map
Date: 3 December
Time: 12-2pm
Catering: A buffet lunch will be provided so please RSVP for catering purposes. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.

We will also be welcoming a couple of representatives from the University’s Empowering People group and you’ll have the opportunity to speak to them about what they’re doing. Both projects are working towards putting people at the heart of the University and driving transformational culture change.

If you’d like to join us please confirm your attendance by emailing us haveyoursay@glasgow.ac.uk
by Friday 27 November at the very latest as this will help us to organise catering.

We look forward to seeing you

Best wishes,
Glasgow Professional project team
