College of Arts plans for Industry Day
The College of Arts is finalising plans for this year's Industry Day. The inaugural event in 2013 was a sell-out with 200 registered visitors and about 180 guests on the day. Attendees from 89 different organisations were present.
This year's College of Arts Industry Day takes place on Friday, 5 June 2015 from 10:00am to 4pm. You can register here:
Industry Day is an opportunity for organisations from both the private and public sectors to learn of the many ways in which they can benefit from the strengths and resources of the College of Arts.
The College says that with confirmed keynote speakers from the Scottish Government and Creative Scotland, there will be a perfect balance of academic and non-academic presentations.
Eight themes have been identified which resonate with industry and reflect the key strengths of the College of Arts:
- Cultural Education
- Dress & Textiles
- Film & Broadcasting
- Performing Arts
- Visual Arts
- Writing & Publishing
Each theme will be represented at the event by an information display, which will present case studies, demonstrations and take away materials. There will also be break-out sessions focussing on each theme.
Representatives from the College will be on hand to discuss case studies of past collaborations in these sectors and talk through the ways in which they can use this experience to make future partnerships flourish.
