Robert Lennon, a PhD student in Linguistics at the University of Glasgow, is looking for participants for a 25-minute speech perception experiment.

Robert Lennon, a PhD student in Linguistics at the University of Glasgow, is looking for participants for a 25-minute speech perception experiment, taking place at Glasgow University, from this week onwards.

His study requires that you:

  • Are a monolingual native English speaker (speaking only English in childhood)
  • Grew up either in West Central Scotland OR anywhere in England (having lived in West Central Scotland for at least a year - first year students are eligible!)
  • please specify 'Scottish' or 'English' in your email
  • Are aged 18-30
  • Have no speech or hearing disorders.

The experiment will last no longer than 25 minutes, and you’ll receive £5 – you’ll also be entered into a draw to win a £50 Amazon voucher.

It will take place in the English Language Department, 12 University Gardens (just along from the Queen Margaret Union).
