Essential restoration work will be taking place on the University of Glasgow bell tower.  The work is due to start on 8 June and will run for around 40 weeks, ending in April 2016.

As a consequence of the programme, the bells will be out of use from mid July 2015 until the end of March 2016.

This work is being undertaken to repair the building fabric of the tower, the spiral staircase and the bell cradle.

Scaffolding will be erected around the entire tower and spire to facilitate the restoration works.

Plans are in place to keep disruption and noise levels to a minimum.
