New Appointment Booking Service for students

A new appointment booking service for students is proving a success with more than 10,000 sessions

Students can now book appointments directly with Student Services via an easy-to-use web application.

The application is accessible from MyGlasgow for Students and from relevant Student Services pages of the University web site.

It provides a consistent and accessible point of contact between students and the various student services which students may wish to make use of during their time at the University.

The application, which has been developed by the Development & Integration team in IT Services, allows students to view real time Student Services meeting time availability and book a time which suits them. Students receive an instant email confirmation containing relevant meeting instructions, location and time which can be loaded into their electronic diary of choice.

Student Services have reported that on line booking and email reminders have improved student attendance and participation across a wide variety of services including Careers, Counselling and Disability.

The application was successfully used over the summer by International Student Services to manage the Tier 4 induction process. Since then the application has been successfully rolled out to the admissions area of the Recruitment and International Office and to the Subject Librarians in the University Library.

Since launch in April the system has handled more than 10,000 appointment bookings.
