University appoints two new Equality Champions

Gender Equality Champion Professor Anne Anderson, Vice-Principal and Head of the College of Social Sciences, has been appointed as the University’s Gender Equality Champion. Religion and Belief Equality Champion Professor Neal Juster, Senior Vice-Principal and Deputy Vice Chancellor has in turn, been named as the new Religion and Belief Equality Champion.

Gender Equality Champion Professor Anne Anderson, Vice-Principal and Head of the College of Social Sciences, has been appointed as the University’s Gender Equality Champion.

As part of her new role, Professor Anderson will take over as chair of the University’s Athena SWAN Self Assessment Team which is responsible for overseeing, supporting and facilitating the implementation of University’s current Athena SWAN Bronze Award Action Plan.

She will also help guide the College of Social Sciences and School of Law as they participate in the new trial of the Equality Challenge Unit’s Gender Equality Charter Mark award.

Religion and Belief Equality Champion Professor Neal Juster, Senior Vice-Principal and Deputy Vice Chancellor has in turn, been named as the new Religion and Belief Equality Champion.

The University celebrates and values the diversity of its students, staff and visitors and aims to create an environment where the cultural, religious and non-religious or similar philosophical beliefs of all are respected. 

The University welcomes the views of staff and students to assist and inform good practice and policy development via the Religion and Belief Equality Group which Professor Juster now chairs as part of his new role.
