The University’s Development and Alumni team has been short-listed for a prestigious Times Higher Education award.

The Development and Alumni Office was selected for this year’s Outstanding University Fundraising Initiative category in the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards. It is in recognition of the recent Beatson Pebble Appeal, a £10m fundraising campaign to build the Beatson Translational Research Centre.

DAO’s Director, Cathy Bell, said: “We are delighted that the success of the Beatson Pebble Appeal is recognised at a national level.  The Development and Alumni Office are very proud of the appeal which has gained support from staff, students as well as the West of Scotland public. Now that the centre is opened all Beatson Pebble Appeal funds which we receive will go towards supporting the vital work into cancer research taking place at the University of Glasgow”.

The awards dinner and ceremony will take place on Thursday 20 June at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London. More than 800 guests are expected to attend, including government ministers and academic and university staff of every level from across the sector.
