Current & Recent News
Although most newspapers have a website the majority require a personal subscription to access content.
The main way for students and staff to access current and recent national and international newspaper articles is via Nexis.
Collections
Nexis - Search across a wide range of publications, including local and national UK newspapers, international titles, business and industry trade magazines, company information sources, and press agency content. Coverage spans from the 1990s to the present and is available in multiple languages. Please note that content is text-only (no images, original layouts, or adverts) and that some publications may have a short delay before appearing in the database.
To search within a specific newspaper or collection of UK newspapers in Nexis:
- Go to the News tab
- In the By Region section, select Europe
- Choose United Kingdom from the list
- A list of titles will appear, allowing you to search newspapers individually or in groups
Europresse - Access to a range of newspaper and magazine titles from Europe and further afield.
