Mapping to network storage
You need to be connected to the UofG network including eduroam (but not UofGVisitor) or have UofG VPN connected,to connect to the network storage.
Windows
- Select Start then File Explorer then scroll down to select the This PC icon.
- In the menu bar click the overflow menu (...) and select Map network drive.
- Select a drive letter and provide the following UNC path in the Folder field:
\\campus.gla.ac.uk\SSD_Home_Xtra_D\YourGUID
So if your GUID is 123456U then you should connect to
\\campus.gla.ac.uk\SSD_Home_Xtra_D\123456U
- If you are on a personal machine you need to also select Connect using different credentials and provide the following
Username: CAMPUS\YourGUID
Password: Your GUID password
macOS
- In Finder select Go -> Connect to Server and provide the path
smb://campus.gla.ac.uk/SSD_Home_Xtra_D/YourGUID
So if your GUID is 123456U then you should connect to smb://campus.gla.ac.uk/SSD_Home_Xtra_D/123456U
- when prompted for credentials select "Registered User" and provided
Username: CAMPUS\yourGUID
Password: Your University password
