Mapping to network storage
You need to be connected to the UofG network including eduroam (but not UofGVisitor) or have UofG VPN connected,to connect to the network storage.
Windows
Standard Staff Desktop (SSD)
- Select Start then File Explorer then scroll down to select the This PC icon.
- In the menu bar select the overflow menu (...) and select Map network drive.
- Select a drive letter and provide the following UNC path in the Folder field:
\\campus.gla.ac.uk\SSD_Home_Xtra_D\YourGUID
So if your GUID is 123456U then you should connect to
\\campus.gla.ac.uk\SSD_Home_Xtra_D\123456U - Select Finish
Personal and MyDevice machines
- Select Start then File Explorer then scroll down to select the This PC icon.
- In the menu bar select the overflow menu (...) and select Map network drive.
- Select a drive letter and provide the following UNC path in the Folder field:
\\campus.gla.ac.uk\SSD_Home_Xtra_D\YourGUID - select Connect using different credentials and provide the following
Username: CAMPUS\YourGUID
Password: Your GUID password
- Select a drive letter and provide the following UNC path in the Folder field:
- Select Finish
macOS
- In Finder select Go -> Connect to Server and provide the path
smb://campus.gla.ac.uk/SSD_Home_Xtra_D/YourGUID
So if your GUID is 123456U then you should connect to smb://campus.gla.ac.uk/SSD_Home_Xtra_D/123456U
- when prompted for credentials select "Registered User" and provided
Username: CAMPUS\yourGUID
Password: Your University password
