Provenance: William Hunter (1718-1783), physician and anatomist:  source unknown.
University of Glasgow:  Hunterian bequest 1807;  Hunterian Museum bookplate on front pastedown, with former shelfmark “Ae.4.7”.
Binding: 18th-century mottled calf;  gold-tooled spine;  red-edged leaves.   Size:  305 x 209 mm.
Leaf size: 300 x 202 mm.
Annotations: Signature k1, which is missigned “l”, corrected in ink to “k”;  18th-century price "1=11=6" faintly written in pencil on front free endpaper.
Decoration: Six-line initial “Q” on a2r supplied in blue with reserved white and set on a square ground of red pen-work decoration;  other initials and paragraph marks supplied in alternate red and blue throughout;  capital strokes in red throughout.
Imperfections: Wanting the first blank leaf.

Binding: Scotland, 20th-century gold-tooled olive morocco; gold-tooled spine; new green endpapers; modern flyleaves; gilt-edged leaves; “Bound by Dunn & Wilson” stamped on turn-in of rear cover; previous binding unrecorded. Size: 286 x 193 mm.
Leaf size: 277 x 183 mm.
Annotations: Frequent underlining in an early hand and occasional “nota” marks; number “2/292” in pencil on a2r is probably a binder’s job number.
Decoration: Initials supplied in blue or red (some with reserved white); capital strokes in red throughout.
Imperfections: Wanting the first blank leaf.
