Usually dated not after 11 June from a copy formerly at Leipzig now in Moscow purchased on that day (BMC), but the Roma Casanatense copy was bought in April (A. Modigliani, 'Tipografi a Roma prima della stampa', (Rome: 1989) p.50 n.109).

Note: With an additional leaf containing the Registrum bound in at the front - cf. the Bod-inc copy.   The outer leaves of gathering 17 have been wrongly folded so that 17/10 (f. 170) is bound at the beginning of the gathering and 17/1 (f. 161) at the end.

Binding: France, 18th-century red morocco decorated with triple gold fillets, a small gold fleuron at each corner;  gold-tooled spine (including a thistle tool);  marbled endpapers;  gilt-edged leaves;  green silk bookmark.   Size:  291 x 203 mm.

Annotations: Traces of manuscript signatures.
Decoration: A seven-line initial ‘S’ on 1/1r is supplied in red, blue and reserved white and set on a square ground of red and violet pen-work, with a floral border of violet pen-work in the inner, upper and lower margins;  a three-line initial ‘I’ on 17/10r (f. 170r) is supplied in blue and set on a square ground of red pen-work which extends into the inner margin;  a seven-line initial ‘F’ on 17/10v (f. 170v) is supplied in red, blue and reserved white and set on a square ground of violet and red pen-work, the latter extending into the outer margin;  paragraph marks supplied in red or blue throughout.
Imperfections: None.
