Provenance: A. Carr (17th cent.):  inscription “Lib. A. Carr(?)” on front flyleaf (surname scored through); possibly in same hand on a second front flyleaf “Bought: Dec: 7: 1678: Price: 2s.” (year lightly crossed out).

Binding: England, 17th-century blind-tooled calf (rebacked);  covers decorated with a triple blind-fillet border, a lozenge-shaped floral tool at each inner corner;  sprinkled red and brown-edged leaves;  without pastedowns;  loosely inserted at rear is a printed leaf (printer’s waste?) with running title ‘De decem praecept. Philonis Iudaei’ (pp. 81-2).   Size:  200 x 139 mm.
Leaf size: 196 x 138 mm.
Annotations: Copious marginal annotations (16th century) throughout;  frequent underlining and “nota” marks;  many passages crossed out in ink;  traces of early manuscript foliation (e.g. the final leaf numbered “61”).
Decoration: Some initials supplied in black ink.
Imperfections: Wanting leaves a1-5.
