Provenance: Unidentified ecclesiastical owner:  armorial bookstamp on 8/7r (f. 75r) of second item in volume - a shield bearing three lions rampant and a sceptre(?), surmounted by a mitre and crosier.

Binding: France, 18th-century gold-tooled blue goatskin;  covers decorated with a wide foliate-roll border, with an ornament at each inner corner and with the Brancas de Lauraguais arms in gilt in the centre;  gold-tooled spine;  marbled endpapers;  gilt-edged leaves;  blue silk bookmark;  parchment tab on 27/7 (f. 259).   Size:  341 x 245 mm.
Leaf size: 333 x 234 mm.
Annotations: Occasional marginal annotations in a 15th/16th-century hand, mainly extracting keywords;  occasional interlinear corrections;  occasional nota marks;  early manuscript signatures “a”-“gg”, a sequence which is continued in the second item in the volume (“hh”-“pp”).
Decoration: Principal initials supplied in red and blue with reserved white;  other initials supplied in alternate red and blue throughout (occasionally with reserved white);  underlining in red;  paragraph marks in alternate red and blue;  initial strokes in red throughout;  running book numbers “ij”-“xv” in red.
