ABaCuSS Programme

Students on the Accelerator for Business Challenges and Social Science (ABaCuSS) programme will work with a business to advance a specific project using intrapreneurial methods (defined as: applying entrepreneurial models and spirit within an existing business) that will be learnt through a robust package of training and support provided by a leading researcher professional development trainer.

Four ABaCuSS internships will be hosted at the University of Glasgow and three at the University of Manchester, each with a unique business challenge. The ABaCuSS participants online training will include a I) virtual bootcamp kick-off, II) business capacity-based training and times to workshop with the whole ABaCuSS cohort & III) individual coaching. Additionally, participants will have the chance to hear from innovators, members of the business community and other academics to build their networks and learn from successful leaders across social science disciplines and entrepreneurs.

This internship is for 9 weeks on a part time basis of 20 hours per week. To be eligible for this role you must be a PhD student or MSc from the College of Social Sciences and be based in the UK for the duration of the internship. PhD students can come from any discipline within the College of Social Sciences but for MSc students you should come from an academic background in urban studies, business, environment, sustainability or psychology.
