Meetings and Reports
Do hybrid or online Board of Examiners meetings fulfil the requirement for at least one in-person meeting per academic year?
While we would encourage at least one in-person meeting in Glasgow each year, hybrid or online meetings are acceptable so long as all requirements of the External Examiner are able to be met without travelling to Glasgow. The priority is to ensure the presence of the External Examiner at the meeting wherever possible.
Are External Examiners sent reminders to complete their reports?
Yes. External Examiners are sent reminders from Academic Policy & Governance to complete their reports if they have not done so. Generally, up to three reminders will be sent.
When are External Examiner reports published?
Reports are usually published in January, although this may be earlier or later. Reports can only be published to the system once per academic year, and so this happens after the majority of reports have been submitted.
If you require a copy of a report prior to publication on the website, please contact apg-external-examiners@glasgow.ac.uk.
