There is no regulatory requirement that partial credit to allow early opt-outs from long thin courses must be provided.

However, the Academic Standards Committee has recommended as good practice setting assessment schemes for level 1 and 2 courses to include sufficient assessment in semester 1 to allow credit to be awarded. This would then enable students to leave the course early to take alternative course choices while receiving proportionate credit to reflect their studies during semester 1.
