Admission free - booking required

At the heart of The Hunterian’s current exhibition, GUGA: Slighe gu Gàidhlig/ Exploring Gaelic Identities, is a group of photographs by the award-winning photographer, Laetitia Vancon. Born in Toulouse, Vancon took up photography having trained and worked as an engineer. Her work features regularly in The New York Times.

Vancon’s 2016 project Aig deireadh an latha (At the End of the Day) was undertaken during four visits to the Western Isles. Her powerful images explore how young people living in the Outer Hebrides frequently undergo experiences of dislocation amidst the communities and cultures in which they have grown up.

At this special event, Vancon will discuss her work as a photographer in conversation with Mungo Campbell, Deputy Director of The Hunterian and curator of GUGA: Slighe gu Gàidhlig/ Exploring Gaelic Identities.
