‌‌Celebrating Scotland's national bard, this special Night at the Museum event links to the Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology and highlights new University of Glasgow research into Robert Burns. 

Focusing on Burns and the collections of The Hunterian – Scotland’s oldest public museum, visitors will experience stunning light installations, live performances, pop-up museum object handling, a pop-up shop, food and drink.

‌Also featured will be manuscripts discovered in the last 10 years; archaeological work done around Burns sites; 'Burns and War' - the minute book of the Royal Dumfries Volunteers, rediscovered 100 years after Burns' death; a new Night at the Museum.publication ‘The Scots Musical Museum’ (edited by University of Glasgow Vice-Principal Professor Murray Pittock) and Burns's manuscript issues, including forgery, centred on the Scots Musical Museum.

The University of Glasgow has received support from Scotland’s Winter Festivals during the 2017 Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology to showcase this spectacular event at The Hunterian.
