As a Scot, Allan Ramsay capitalised on his background throughout a career which took him to the social, intellectual and cultural heart of the European Enlightenment. Led by exhibition curators Mungo Campbell and Anne Dulau, this study day will build on extensive new research to explore how his portraits reflect Ramsay’s intellectual roots.
