The Hunterian

Allan Ramsay: Portraits of the Enlightenment is a major exhibition marking 300 years since the birth of Allan Ramsay (1713 - 1784). A selection of the finest portraits from across Ramsay’s 30 years as a painter will be on display, as well as books, letters and other material showing his fascinating place in the cultural and intellectual life of the era. Highlights include portraits of David Hume, Flora MacDonald and The Hunterian’s founder William Hunter and exquisite portraits of aristocrats such as Lady Stanhope, Baroness Holland and Countess Temple. More.

These free lunchtime talks are given by acknowledged experts at 12.45pm every Wednesday from 16 October - 18 December 2013 in the Hunterian Art Gallery. Includes free entry to exhibition. No booking required.
