Tackling Climate Change through Chemistry

Chemistry as a subject has a pivotal role to play in combating global warming. Researchers at the University of Glasgow's School of Chemistry are working on innovative projects to mitigate Carbon Dioxide emissions.

This includes finding new sustainable ways to produce large-scale chemicals, such as alternative Ammonia Synthesis catalysts, which can be used in the production of synthetic fertiliser, and the development of new alternative and less polluting fuels, such as biodiesel.

Professor Justin Hargreaves, PhD student Abdulahi Faqeeh and alumnus, Dr Stuart Blain explain more.
