About
Nigerian-Scottish trumpet player Aaron Azunda Akugbo is poised as a future leading exponent of his instrument and made his BBC Proms debut in September 2023 performing the Haydn Trumpet Concerto with Chineke! Orchestra. He is represented by Maestro Arts is in demand as a freelance principal for some of the most prestigious orchestras in the UK including the Philharmonia, BBC Philharmonic, BBC Symphony and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras. Aaron is joined by extraordinary Turkish pianist Zeynep Özsuca who is also duo partner to renowned classical saxophonist Jess Gillham. Together they will perform 20th century and contemporary works by Arthur Honegger, Marcel Bitsch, George Enescu and Karl Pilss.

Our Thursday Professional Lunchtime Series is held in the University Concert Hall which is situated in the Main Building (Gilbert Scott), just below the Hunterian Museum.
You can access the Concert Hall through three different doors:
-West Quad through the door to the toilets and Hunterian lift
-East Quad entering through the Hunterian Staircase door
-East Quad entering through the external corridor to Hunter Halls

We currently have no requirement for pre-booking your FREE ticket! Just turn up at 12.45pm to ensure your seat. Once the Concert Hall is full to capacity, we will be closing doors. Please note the capacity of the Concert Hall is 128 people. Latecomers will not be admitted.
