Meet the Curator: Erika Anderson, Curator of Rocks and Minerals at The Hunterian will explore with you the beautiful colours and sparkles of minerals in Makeup. Ever wondered where the sparkles come from? Get up really close with some mineral particles to find out! There might be some non-mineral surprises in there too!

Take the trails:
a) Marvellous Minerals – Explore the museum for rock samples, gems and minerals but also for minerals in man-made things. What can these objects tell us about mineral uses in the pasts, and more importantly, what minerals will help us care better for the environment in the future?
b) Out and about on Campus – If you didn’t get enough of rocks and stones inside – continue to explore outside and around the university campus with our mini Campus Geology Trail [*].

Get Creative: What amazing make-up designs will you create? The museum will provide a huge range of colours, shapes, patterns and symbols to inspire you. Perhaps crystal shapes and patterns are more your thing – could you make a model crystal?
