Part of the Being Human Festival 2021

Step into the Climate Portal and become part of an immersive art experience exploring the connection between movement, migration and climate justice. For the duration of the festival this unique venue – a converted shipping container equipped with AV technology – is transformed by artists Paria Moazemi Goodarzi and Francisco Llinas-Casas into a space of reflection and intimacy with nature, whilst considering the shipping container as a unit of travel, commerce, and industry. Through a programme of interactive activities, this ‘bothy in the city’ becomes a starting point for travel – both physical and digital – to explore our city’s natural and social environments.

Full programme to be announced in due course.

This work is the result of an ongoing residency in which the lead artists spent time at Bothy Project‘s Inshriach Bothy in the Cairngorms National Park. We wish to acknowledge ‘Walking Publics/Walking Arts: walking, wellbeing and community during COVID-19′ as this project’s starting point, led by the University of Glasgow’s Professor Dee Heddon and supported by the AHRC as part of its COVID-19 Rapid Response fund.

Presented as part of The Dear Green Bothy, a collaborative cultural programme from the University of Glasgow’s College of Arts showcasing creative and critical responses to climate emergency.
