Schedule on the day

Spring Graduations

We know you’ll be excited about your upcoming graduation. Ahead of your celebration, we wanted to provide you with a checklist of things to prepare or expect on the day.

  • You will need to hire a gown and hood for your graduation ceremony. If you haven’t already done so, you should do this online as soon as possible.  If you are unable to book your gown and hood in advance, please allow some additional time to do this on the day of your ceremony.  Gowns are collected in Hunter Halls on the day of your graduation.
  • Think about what to wear - black and white is the official dress code but national dress is also allowed. Jeans and trainers should not be worn and please do not wear a hat as this makes it impossible to cap you.
  • Make sure you double check the date and time of your graduation ceremony as there have been some changes to ceremony times.
  • On the day of your graduation, you must register in Hunter Hall on time.  If you are late, you may not be able to graduate so please allow plenty of time to register. Times are listed below:

  • Please don’t bring large bags and rucksacks as they are not permitted in Bute Hall. Large bags/rucksacks must be left at the bag drop marquee located in the West Quad (outside the chapel). We are unable to provide cloakroom facilities.
