Schedule on the day
If you're attending your graduation ceremony this winter, please see the latest Winter 2021 Graduation Day Information which includes information on when to arrive, what to wear etc. It also reminds you of COVID safety measures.
COVID safety at graduations
The safety and wellbeing of our community – our students, their guests and our colleagues - is our top priority at the university. With that at the forefront of our mind, this winter, our graduation ceremonies are being operated at a much lower capacity than usual.
Please note the following important points for you and your guests joining us on campus and to ensure we keep everyone safe.
• Face coverings must be worn indoors (unless exempt).
• Do not come on to campus if you have been told to self-isolate.
• Do not come on to campus if you feel unwell or have any Covid symptoms.
• Maintain good hygiene by washing your hands regularly and using the hand sanitiser provided on campus.
• If you are on campus and develop any Covid symptoms, please return home immediately.
You must attend at the time stated otherwise you may not be permitted to graduate.
If you enrol to attend your graduation ceremony and fail to turn up on the day without prior notification to the Registry, your graduation will be treated as in-absentia and your documents will be posted to your home address recorded in MyCampus.
Remember to bring your student ID card with you as it will be required when collecting tickets.
Length of ceremony
The ceremony will last approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, dependent on the numbers graduating at the ceremony.
There are no cloakroom facilities available on the day of your graduation.
Please note that no large bags/rucksacks will not be allowed in Bute Hall. Please note that bags may be searched.
