The course provides an introduction to the academic study of the Theology and Religious Studies, focusing on key skills and ideas essential to Level 1 courses in the College of Arts.

Course Aims

To put in place basic understanding and skills appropriate to Level 1 undergraduate study in the College of Arts and knowledge and understanding of the academic discipline of Theology and Religious Studies.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of this course students should be able to:

■ Identify key themes in Theology & Religious Studiers and analyse those themes appropriately;

■ Correctly and confidently use key terminology of this field of study;

■ Write essays in an appropriate academic form;

■ Communicate responses to relevant topics in group discussion.

Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits

Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course's summative assessment.
