Published: 3 October 2025
On 11 November (13:00-15:00, ARC Studio 2), the ‘Peaceful, Secure, and Empowered Societies’ Interdisciplinary Research Theme (IRT) organised a workshop focused on trust and foundation grants.
Date: Tuesday 11 November 2025
Time: 13.00-15.00
Location: ARC Studio 2, University of Glasgow
During the first part of the workshop, Mary Margaret McRae, Philanthropic Bid Development Manager in the College of Social Sciences, provided an overview of the major grant opportunities offered by reputable trusts and foundations across the UK and beyond.

During the second part of the workshop, colleagues from across the College (School of Social and Political Sciences; School of Education; School of Law) shared their experience with both successful and unsuccessful applications to trust and foundations grants.

The workshop ended with a breakout group session during which participants were asked to write a three-line case for support in the style of the trust or foundation that was best suited for their ongoing grant projects.
